The traditional votive is designed to spill out over the edge of the candle and fill a snug container as it burns. This will lengthen the burn time to around 20 hours or more. For best results, keep the candle lit for 2 hours or more at a time.
You can purchase a glass jar for burning these in, then use refills and reuse the jar. Place the jar with leftover wax in a saucepan with with a little water in the bottom to create a double boiler. Gently heat the water and melt the wax, wiping it away with a paper towel while warm.
